Social activist and Bring Back Our Girls campaigner, Aisha Yesufu has called out presidential media aide, Femi Adesina, over his recent comments that Nigerians should be grateful that killings have reduced in the country.

Adesina had in an interview on Channels Television said that Nigerians should be grateful that killings have stopped.

He said, “It is not as bad as you make it seem ...because we know what the situation was as of 2015 and we know what it is today despite the reversals in security, it is still not as bad as it used to be in this country

“Yes, there was a bomb or two today (Sunday). There was a time that there were five, six, 10 bombings in a day in this country.”

He said Nigerians ought to be “thankful for the job being done by the government.”

Mrs. Yesufu called him out over his comments. She pointed out that a lot of challenges facing the country today were not on the table in 2015 when the regime of Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) came into office.

She said, “In 2015 Nigeria was not the poverty capital of the world. In 2015 #LeahSharibu was not with Boko Haram. In 2015 Abuja Kaduna expressway was not controlled by Bandits. In 2015 citizens of Kaduna State were not terrified of kidnappers and left their houses.”
