Betelgeuse, one of the brightest stars in the galaxy, is now losing its sheen. Betelguese is a red star that is part of the Orion constellation. This star is now moving towards the supernova phase . In such a situation there is a possibility of explosion. Supernova is a powerful stellar explosion, causing the star to die forever. According to a report by Slate, it has been dropped from the 12th brightest star to the 20th position due to the brightness of the Betelguese in the last few months . This explosion, located 642.5 light years from Earth, may be the first nearest supernova visible to humans.

आकाशगंगा के सबसे चमकीले तारों में से एक 'बीटलग्यूज' अब अपनी चमक खोने लगा है. बीटलग्यूज, लाल रंग का तारा है जो ओरायन तारामंडल का हिस्सा है. ये तारा अब सुपरनोवा चरण की ओर आगे बढ़ रहा है. ऐसे में इसमें विस्फोट की संभावना है. सुपरनोवा एक शक्तिशाली तारकीय विस्फोट है, जिसके कारण तारा हमेशा के लिए खत्म हो जाता है. स्लेट की एक रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक, पिछले कुछ महीनों में बीटलग्यूज की चमक कम होने की वजह से इसे 12वें सबसे चमकीले तारे से हटाकर 20वें स्थान पर रखा गया है. पृथ्वी से 642.5 प्रकाश वर्ष स्थित यह तारे में अगर विस्फोट होता है तो यह इंसानों को दिखाई देने वाला पहला सबसे पास का सुपरनोवा हो सकता है.
