KL Rahul had been keeping in all the matches for India, ever since Rishabh Pant got concussed in the Mumbai ODI against Australia in January. Aakash Chopra have questioned the management strategy of making KL Rahul keep in the ODI format as well. A wicket-keeper KL Rahul in ODIs is not a good idea for the two and they fear that it might injure 'precious-asset' KL Rahul in the long-run. KL Rahul has scored 411 runs at a staggering average of 68.50 in the eight matches he has played as wicket-keeper.

क्रिकेटर से कमेंटेटर बने आकाश चोपड़ा ने केएल राहुल को लेकर सवाल उठाए हैं. आकाश चोपड़ा का मानना है कि केएल राहुल से विकेटकीपिंग नहीं करवानी चाहिए. उन्हें ओपनिंग पर ही खेलना चाहिए. अगर ऐसा नहीं होता है तो फिर राहुल बहुत जल्द इंजरी की वजह से बाहर बैठ सकते हैं. गौरतलब है कि वानखेड़े वनडे के बाद से केएल राहुल लगातार भारतीय टीम के लिए विकेटकीपिंग कर रहे हैं. पंत के चोटिल होने के बाद उन्हें प्लेयिंग इलेवन से ही बाहर कर दिया गया है. अब ऋषभ पंत को दूसरे विकेटकीपर के तौर पर देखा जा रहा है. वहीं, न्यूजीलैंड के खिलाफ टी20 सीरीज में भी राहुल ने ग्लव्स की जिम्मेदारी संभाली.
