What I Touched - The Coronavirus and How it Spreads

The Wuhan Coronavirus is transmitted through touch, which got me thinking about everything we touch, everything we share. Every item is a potential vector for disease. You'll be surprised how many of these items we have in common, how much of what we touch is shared among us, how many times we touch them without thinking. I am one person, but there are 70 people in my office and hundreds on my commute. If I were infected, how many other people would I infect through a door handle or the coffee machine, when I help someone by getting them a glass at lunch or touching their mouse?
I've always been a germaphobe, careful not to touch anything when I can help it. Even I was surprised as this video got longer and longer with a list of things I touch throughout the day.
I'm happy to say that the transport system here is almost touchless. Doors open by themselves, stations have no doors at all, card readers are electronic. Outside of sneezing or coughing on someone, this system works well to prevent the spread of a virus.
This video is meant to make you think, to help change your behaviour, to consider your vulnurabilities, to be compassionate for those who do fall ill, and to bring awareness to everyday systems. Illness can happen to any of us. The next pandemic is at our fingertips.
