The Modi government at the Center has decided to sell 100 per cent stake in Air India. According to the document released by the government, 100% shares of Air India, Air India Express will also be sold. The government has set March 17 deadline to join the bidding process. Air India was launched in April 1932. Air India was founded by India's legendary businessman JRD Tata. Initially Air India was called Tata Airlines, which became Air India Limited in 1947.

केंद्र की मोदी सरकार ने एयर इंडिया के सौ फीसदी हिस्सेदारी बेचने का फैसला ले लिया है। सरकार की ओर से जारी दस्तावेज के अनुसार एयर इंडिया, एयर इंडिया एक्सप्रेस के भी सौ फीसदी शेयर बेची जाएगी। सरकार ने बोली प्रक्रिया में शामिल होने के लिए 17 मार्च तक का समय रखा है। एयर इंडिया की शुरुआत अप्रैल 1932 में हुई थी। भारत के दिग्गज बिजनेसमैन जेआरडी टाटा ने एयर इंडिया की स्थापना की थी। शुरू में एयर इंडिया का नाम टाटा एयरलाइंस हुआ करता था, जो 1947 में एयर इंडिया लिमिटेड बन गया।
