Nirbhaya case: Petition of one of the four Nirbhaya convicts Mukesh Kumar Singh challenging rejection of mercy should be listed on top priority if execution is on February 1, Chief Justice of India Bobde said on Monday. Convict Mukesh Singh lawyer had asked the court to list his petition challenging the President rejection of his mercy petition urgently.

निर्भया मामले के चारों दोषियों में से एक मुकेश कुमार सिंह की दया याचिका खारिज किए जाने के फैसले के खिलाफ दायर याचिका पर सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने जल्द सुनवाई के संकेत दिए हैं। दरअसल दोषी के वकील वृंदा ग्रोवर ने सुप्रीम कोर्ट से इस मामले की जल्द से जल्द सुनवाई की मांग की थी, क्योंकि दोषी को 1 फरवरी को फांसी देने के लिए पटियाला हाउस कोर्ट ने डेथ वारंट जारी किया है। इस पर चीफ़ जस्टिस ऑफ इंडिया जस्टिस बोबडे ने कहा कि अगर किसी को 1 फरवरी को फांसी होनी है तो इसकी जल्द सुनवाई सुप्रीम कोर्ट की अहम प्राथमिकता होगी।
