Australian science teacher performs controversial physics experiment letting student smash concrete block on his chest with sledge hammer

To demonstrate Newton's first law of motion, Australian science teacher Jacob Strickling lets one of his homeschool students smash a concrete block on his chest with a sledge hammer.

In the second part of the video, filmed on Wednesday (January 22), one of Jacob's female students bravely volunteers to give the experiment a go, while one of her peers smashed the block with some trepidation.

The only safety equipment required is a full face protection visor which is used to protect teeth and eyes.

Jacob told Newsflare: "It was a very memorable science lesson!"

Jacob regularly records entertaining science videos, with a number of them reaching over a million views on Facebook.
