Alyssa Nakken Becomes MLB's
First Full-Time Female Coach She has been named an assistant to new
San Francisco Giants Manager Gabe Kapler. Nakken is expected to travel with
the team throughout the season. She will also be in uniform during games and help with activities,
such as batting practice. Gabe Kapler, via statement Nakken originally joined the Giants organization as
an intern, working on a number of health
and wellness initiatives. Before that, she was a three-time
all-conference softball player
at Sacramento State. Nakken was also a four-time Academic All-American
and holds a master's degree in sports management.
