Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng said there is no need for the Pakatan Harapan presidential council to set a date for Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to take over the Prime Minister’s post as he is confident that the transition will happen as promised.

Lim, who is also DAP secretary-general, added that Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad had already indicated that he would step down as the prime minister after the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Kuala Lumpur in November.

He said this on Wednesday when asked about calls from PKR MPs who told a forum on the transition issue that it is better for Dr Mahathir to step down in May instead of November.
