Volcanic ash reduces visibility on roads in the Philippines
  • 4 years ago
Road visibility has worsened a few days after the Taal Volcano suddenly started erupting on Sunday (January 12).

Driver Keiran Santos took footage of the current situation in major roads after the ash fall has reached their town of Sta. Rosa, Laguna today (January 14). It's around 80km from the volcano in Batangas province.

She said: "The roads are passable, but you have to be cautious because it is hazy."

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) has issued an Alert Level 4 which means that a hazardous eruption is possible within days.

The ash fall is expected to reach as far as the northern-most region of the Philippines as it continues to show signs of activity for days.
