The first Lohri celebrated by a new bride or a newborn represents a grand occasion and immediate family members are invited for feast and exchange of gifts. Once the party is over, Lohri is celebrated with traditional dancing and singing around the bonfire. Lohri pampers women and children. This is particularly a happy occasion for the couples who for the first time celebrated Lohri after their marriage and also first Lohri of a new born child either a girl or a boy in a family


शादी के बाद है बेटी की पहली लोहड़ी तो इन बातों का रखें विशेष ध्‍यान। लो‍हड़ी का त्‍योहार सूर्य के दक्षिणायन से उत्‍तरायण में आने का पर्व है। यह त्‍योहार विशेष रूप से पंजाबी समुदाय के लोगों के बीच मनाया जाता है। इसे मुख्‍य रूप से पंजाब, हरियाणा, दिल्‍ली, हिमाचल और कश्‍मीर में धूमधाम से मनाया जाता है।बेटियों की ससुराल भेजे जाते हैं उपहारशादी के बाद बेटी की पहली लोहड़ी पर मायके से उसकी ससुराल उपहार भेजे जाने की परंपरा है। बेटी की मां कपड़े, मिठाइयां, गज‍क, रेवड़ी अपनी बेटी के लिए भिजवाती है।
