Vitalant in Arizona has announced a critical appeal for types O-negative and O-positive blood, which means that we have less that a 2-day supply.  Since it takes up to 48 hours to test and process blood before it can be released to a hospital, they are going through those blood types faster than they can replace them. With a daily need of 600 blood donors, it will take several days, if not weeks, to rebuild Arizona’s blood supply to adequate levels.  Vitalant is asking people to visit www.vitalant.org to find a location and make an appointment to donate blood as soon as possible. In appreciation, all donors through Jan. 15 will be thanked with a voucher for a one-day admission to the Waste Management Phoenix Open, compliments of the tournament sponsors.
