A 13ft long king cobra was caught hiding under the kitchen sink. Housewife Nai Pattaraporn, 40, spotted the huge python laying on the cool tiles in Krabi, southern Thailand last Saturday (December 28) evening while she was preparing dinner.

The resident said she was terrified after noticing the deadly reptile. She said: "I was extremely shocked when I saw the snake hiding under the sink counter. I recovered my thoughts before calling the rescue workers to catch the snake."

Reptile specialists rushed to the scene and spent only five minutes using equipment to capture the fierce snake. The python struggled to escape but it was finally taken into the sack.

One of the rescuers said: "The snake may have been looking for food while there was a shortage in the wild. If anyone finds reptiles rampaging through the house, do not hesitate to call the rescue volunteers."

The king cobra was estimated to be 13ft long before it was released back into the jungle.
