Pakistanis fight back against smog with lawsuits and home-made air purifiers

Air quality has continued to deteriorate in Pakistan’s eastern province of Punjab, forcing schools to close in December 2019. Now people living in the provincial capital Lahore and other cities in the province are fighting back. Some have filed lawsuits against the local government for failure to take sufficient action, while one engineer has started making low-cost air purifiers to help residents desperate for a breath of clean air.
