Filmmaker and Writer Anurag Kashyap, known for realistic hard-hitting films, got his major break as co-writer for Ram Gopal Verma’s 'Satya'. He made his directorial debut with 'Paanch', which due to censor issues was never released. He went on to direct 'Black Friday' on the Bombay serial-blasts, received critical acclaim. 'Dev D' a modern take on Devdas followed by the political drama 'Gulal' and the two-part crime drama Gangs of Wasseypur, won Kashyap appreciation from fans and critics.
