A fruit vendor dragged an official on his truck for more than 200 metres to avoid being fined in China.

In the remarkable clip, filmed in Shanghai on December 5, a truck drove along a road with an officer spread-eagled at the front of the vehicle.

The truck slowed down after driving around 200 metres and the urban management officer finally got a chance to get back onto the ground.

The determined official, named locally as Han, then still attempted to use his body to stop the truck but failed.

According to reports, the fruit vendor was caught illegally selling fruits on the roadside. When Han tried to ask for information from the vendor, he packed his stuff and started up his truck, dragging Han along with it.

The vendor was arrested by police and the case is being investigated.
