Pakistani Hindu refugees hail CAA in Rajasthan's Jaisalmer
  • 4 years ago
Where everyone is opposing the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), Pakistani Hindu refugees held a march, in support of it in Rajasthan's Jaisalmer. They held placards and raised slogans in support of the new Citizenship Act. These refugees were living in the area for last 5-7 years and had no Indian citizenship so, were not able to avail any facility. Speaking on CAA, one of the refugees said, "we have been staying here since last 5-7 years and we are yet to get citizenship. We don't get facilities. This act will help us lead a better life." Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) gives citizenship to those non-Muslim refugees who came from three neighboring countries i.e., Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh.
