CAA protests escalate across the country on thursday. Former JNU student and activist Umar Khalid is detained by police for defying prohibitory orders imposed by the Delhi Police in the area during an anti-Citizenship Act protest, at Red Fort, in New Delhi. Political leaders arrested, Ramachandra Guha detained in Bengaluru Protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act have escalated across the country over the past week. Thursday saw multiple protest rallies in the Capital and in cities across the country.

नागरिकता कानून के खिलाफ गुरुवार को देशभर में प्रदर्शन किया गया पूर्वोत्तर के राज्यों के बाद दिल्ली, उत्तर प्रदेश और बिहार में इसको लेकर लोग सड़कों पर उतरे। गुरुवार सुबह से ही बंद का असर दिखने लगा है। दिल्ली में भी बड़ी संख्या में प्रदर्शनकारी सड़कों पर उतरे हैं। यूपी के लखनऊ में संभल में इस दौरान आगजनी भी की गई।
