Police detained protesters in Bengaluru. Several Left organisations have called for a 'bandh' in the state to protest against Citizenship (Amendment) Act 2019 and National Register of Citizens (NRC). Security has been beefed up across Karnataka. Section 144 has been imposed throughout Bengaluru including rural districts.
