Judgment finally came to members of the powerful Ampatuan clan and their accomplices after a 10-year-trial for the murder of 58 people, including 32 journalists. A crowd gathered near the premises of Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City to listen to the verdict rendered by Judge Jocelyn Solis-Reyes against more than 100 suspects. Police kept a tight watch to prevent an outbreak of violence. Reyes convicted several Ampatuans guilty and sentenced them to reclusion perpetua or imprisonment of up to 40 years.
