Protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act will continue on Thursday. The Left parties have organised a nationwide protest. In Bihar, the Left parties are observing a Statewide bandh on today. The Left parties strongly oppose this bill that links citizenship with the religious affiliation of an individual, the very antithesis of secularism. This bill aims to further sharpen the communal divide and social polarization in the country. While, In Uttar Pradesh, Samajwadi Party and some other organisations have also announced that they will protest against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act.

नागरिकता कानून के खिलाफ वाम दलों ने आज पूरे देश में बंद का आह्वान किया है. देश भर में नागरिकता कानून के खिलाफ सुबह से ही प्रदर्शन का दौर शुरू हो गया है. दरभंगा में लेफ्ट पार्टी के कार्यकर्ताओं ने रेलवे ट्रैक पर प्रदर्शन किया है और ट्रेन को रोक दिया है. वाम दलों का आरोप है कि इस कानून से भारत की धर्मनिरपेक्ष लोकतांत्रिक बुनियाद खत्म हो जाएगी. वही, उत्तर प्रदेश में नागरिकता संसोधन कानून के खिलाफ समाजवादी पार्टी समेत कई संगठनों ने प्रदर्शन का आह्वान किया है। यूपी के पुलिस के महानिदेशक ओम प्रकाश सिंह ने कहा है कि पूरे प्रदेश में धारा 144 लागू होने के मद्देनजर किसी भी तरह के प्रदर्शन की इजाजत नहीं है। यूपी डीजीपी ने लोगों से बच्चों को घर से बाहर नहीं निकलने देने की अपील की है.
