After 36 years, veteran Congress leader and three-time Assam chief minister Tarun Gogoi Wednesday attended court proceedings as a lawyer as the Supreme Court took up a batch of petitions challenging the constitutional validity of the Citizenship Amendment Act.Notably, Tarun Gogoi, a lawyer by profession, was in court to assist Congress leader P Chidambaram. As per reports, the last time the former chief minister of Assam was in court to argue a case was in 1983.

असम के पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री तरुण गोगोई 36 साल बाद एक बार फिर कोर्ट के अंदर काला कोट पहने दिखाई दिए. बता दें कि पूर्व सीएम तरुण गोगोई ने बहुत ही खास वजह से अपने पुराने पेशे में वापस लौटने का फैसला किया है। ये वजह है नागरिकता (संशोधन) कानून का अदालत में विरोध. बता दें कि नागरिकता कानून का असम में भारी विरोध हो रहा है. अब वहां के पूर्व सीएम ने अदालत में लड़ने का फैसला किया है।
