Curfew was relaxed in the city of Guwahati which was imposed in the wake of protests against Citizenship Amendment Act. The curfew was relaxed from 9 AM to 4 PM. Locals were seen on roads and railway stations in large numbers. Local markets and petrol pumps saw huge rush after the relaxation in curfew. Protests erupted in Guwahati and other parts of Assam after the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2019 was passed in Parliament. The internet services have been suspended in 10 districts of the state.
