Thai motorcycle rider crashes into truck while seemingly using his phone

A motorcycle rider crashed into a pickup truck in Thailand, apparently because he was using his phone.

The young man was riding along a nearly empty road but gradually veered to the left, before smashing into the back of a parked pickup truck.

As the youngster fell onto the floor, a smartphone bounced along the road in front of him, apparently dropped from his hands.

Motorist Nanthasak Noppha captured the incident with his vehicle's dashcam, in Chachoengsao, Thailand, on 29 November.

Nanthasak said that the rider was lucky that he wasn't hit by his own vehicle after falling into the road.

He believes the boy was distracted by his phone while riding the bike.

Nanthasak said: "It was fortunate for him that I could take quick action and avoid running over him. I almost crashed myself. The boy picked himself up and was not seriously hurt. He didn't say why he crashed but he definitely was not paying attention to the road and I think he was looking at his mobile phone.''
