In Bangkok, dozens of students exercise on the grass field at the Bangkok Prep International School while solar panels on the roofs of the campus buildings harness electricity.
The school is located in the Town Sukhumvit 77 (T77) community, which hosts the first peer-to-peer (P2P) blockchain-powered renewable energy trading platform in Southeast Asia since 2018.
Blockchain works as a P2P network, so the energy exchange takes place without intermediaries in a secure and decentralized way and can be controlled in real time through software on a computer or cell phone.
