Chiefs Snap Patriots 21-Game
Home Winning Streak.
Kansas City defeated New England 23-16 on Sunday afternoon.
The Patriots fell to 10-3, while the Chiefs moved to 9-4 on the season.
New England's chances were hurt by two controversial calls in the second half.
Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce was ruled down
by contact late in the third quarter.
Cornerback Stephon Gilmore recovered and
could have had a significant return,
but the play was blown dead.
Patriots coach Bill Belichick had to challenge
the call, and New England took over
at their own 43-yard line.
Later in the game, Patriots wide receiver
N'Keal Harry was ruled out at the 3-yard line.
Replays showed that Harry scored a touchdown
and did not step out of bounds.
The Patriots were out of challenges and
ended up having to settle for a field goal.
We felt like those were plays that were going to change the momentum of the game and eventually put us in a spot to win the football game. , Duron Harmon, Patriots safety, via statement.
It was taken away from us. I know the referees have a rough job ... just make a better call and do this better. , Duron Harmon, via statement
