The Chhattisgarh forest department is growing sapling in waste plastic bottles as a measure to reuse these bottles which would otherwise end up in a landfill and take years to disintegrate, causing a stress on the land. Plastic also breaks down into toxic components that poisons the soil where it is dumped over the years.
