Onion price crosses Rs 150/ kg mark in Madurai

Madurai (Tamil Nadu), Dec 05: Poor and middle-class citizens are having a tough time in managing their kitchen supplies as the onion prices surpassed Rs 150/kg in Tamil Nadu’s Madurai.
However, amidst onion crisis in the country, fresh loads of onions are being imported from Turkey. To control the rising prices, the government is importing 11,000 tonnes from Turkey. Onion prices remain high across the major cities of the country.
