Union Minister of Home Affairs, Amit Shah met leaders of North East region to discuss CAB, 2019 at Assam House. Speaking after the meeting to ANI, Assam Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “I think a lot of confusion have been eliminated. There are still some issues but some solutions have also been found. I think Citizenship Amendment Bill will come before the Parliament in a positive environment, I also hope that after listening to Home Minister's address and examining the draft of Citizenship Amendment Bill the remaining confusion will also go away. ” He further said, “I can't tell you officially but there are indications that the Bill maybe introduced in Parliament in the last week of winter session.
