Onions leave customers teary-eyed in Maharashtra’s Nashik

Onion prices continue to rise in several parts of the country. The prices of the onions have reached Rs 80-110/kg. Recently, a truck carrying onions worth Rs 20 lakh was stolen. Several budget hotels have also stopped the usage of onions in food preparations. State-owned MMTC has placed an order for import of 11,000 MT of onions from Turkey. Onions will begin arriving from late December or early January.
