Deadly venomous snake trapped under fishing net rescued in southeast India

A highly venomous snake was found trapped in a fishing net in southeast India, prompting snake rescuers to arrive and cut it free.

According to sources, the snake, a five-foot-long Banded Krait, was found at Rahagobindapur area of Mayurbhanj district, Odisha on November 28.

Local man Anata Murmu was walking towards his house and noticed the krait trapped under a fishing net. Immediately he informed the forest department.

Snake rescuers arrived later the same day and delicately cut the snake free from the netting, and released it off into the jungle.
