R2-D2 Stars in the original Doozy Animation Super Shorts "Update Required".

Throughout Star Wars, everything has been conveniently R2 Compatible, but it looks like the Empire may have gotten an upgrade, and poor R2-D2 might have some trouble.

But let's face it, Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Darth Vader, none are as powerful as R2-D2. He saves the day almost every time! From unlocking doors in the original trilogy to reprogramming imperial starships to holding the key to a map that was never meant to be found in episode 7, R2 is the ex-machina we all want and deserve.

And no, this is not a Star Wars Episode 9: The Rise of Skywalker Teaser Trailer reaction video! If you are looking for that or Star Wars Fan theories, you should look elsewhere (but still watch this and subscribe, after all, it is free).

You may have noticed, R2 probably is my favorite Star Wars character. Sure, BB8 is adorable, and the fact that he isn't just a CGI inclusion, but they actually figured out a way to make him work in real life, is pretty cool. But the fact remains, R2-D2 is the most helpful and crucial droid in Star Wars. C3PO is more of a comic relief (that bombed hard in the prequel trilogy) but wasn't very useful throughout any of the films. Sure, he spoke a million different languages, but judging by most of the characters in Star Wars, they all spoke multiple languages, even those on a remote planet in some system they had never been to before. And somehow, most of those aliens understood English.

With 8 official Star Wars movies and two "A Star Wars" story movies, you may be wondering which one is my favorite? I think the original trilogy will always be the best, even with some cheesy dialog and plot holes that later movies tried to fill in, or just made bigger. The prequels were fun movies but lacked the same style and heart of the original. The new trilogy has brought back the look of the originals, and some of the heart that those had, but still have their problems. The "Stories" are good in my opinion, but forgettable, lacking any real impact on the Star Wars universe as a whole. Solo, for instance, was enjoyable as a stand alone film but ultimately had too many references to the Harrison Ford Solo than we needed. Dice that played a huge part in Solo, which were a background prop in the original movies and references that we didn't need answer to, like how Han got the name Solo! Were fanboys just lining up asking "But why is called Solo!?" Is it because he is a lone wolf, a red cup, or was it because he some imperial ticket taker added it to his name because he was traveling alone and it somehow stuck? I can relate, my wife and I recently went out to dinner and they announced us as "Party of Two" and I immediately went out and change my name to "Cory Party of Two".

But, I am getting off topic here. I like the original Star Wars movies the best, and of the ne
