Audience at music event breaks out into chair-throwing brawl over seating in north India

Police in north India had to charge in to disperse a fighting mob after clashes broke out during a Qawwali (a form of Sufi Islamic devotional music) event.

According to reports, the incident took place on November 18 in Mohalla Kaithwar region in Haridwar city, Uttarakhand, with footage showing people using chairs and fists to beat each other.

According to the reports, the fight broke out over disappointment with the seating and accommodation arrangements at the event.

The situation was resolved after police personnel charged in with batons.

Police officials have informed that they are investigating the matter while no severe injuries have been reported.
