Curfew imposed as protests continue in Colombian capital
  • 4 years ago
The mayor of the Colombian capital has imposed a curfew to cover the entire city after renewed anti-government protests.

Police fired tear gas in the city on Friday to disperse crowds and there were reports of looting.

This footage shows hundreds of university students banging pots and pans and holding signs criticising the government.

One sign read: "This government is more toxic than my ex."

The demonstration took place just before the curfew came into effect.

President Iván Duque has said he will launch a "national conversation" next week to try to ease tensions.

More than 250,000 people attended marches across the country on Thursday to voice anger at the government.
