Louis Bleriot is a French aviation pioneer who made the first crossing with a monoplane airplane over the British channel. He made a lot of attempts at making an airworthy airship until the final model the Bleriot XI was ready. On 25 July 1909 made the English Channel crossing from Calais to Dover.
Bleriot was a hero. He won a monetary price but most importantly it launched his aircraft manufacturing company.
The Bleriot never flew again as Bleriot +/- crash landed it in Dover. Bleriot himself was unharmed.
Bleriot manufactured airplanes for civil and military use. In World War I multiple countries used the planes mainly for intelligence.
Bleriot also started an aviation school. This movie shows the different attempts at creating an airplane that was sky worthy.
