India successfully conducted twin tests of nuclear capable surface-to-surface short range ballistic missile Prithvi-II on Wednesday. This is for the first time that a ballistic missile capable of delivering nuclear warheads has been flight tested back-to-back during night.The trials of the missiles were carried out by the Strategic Forces Command of the Nuclear Command Authority.

भारत ने दो पृथ्वी बैलिस्टिक मिसाइलों का रात्रि-परीक्षण किया है. ये सफल परीक्षण ओडिशा के तट से किया गया है. स्ट्रैटेजिक फोर्सेस कमांड द्वारा 300 किमी दूर तक मार करने वाली इन मिसाइलों का परीक्षण किया गया. बता दें कि पृथ्वी-2 मिसाइल 500-1000 किलोग्राम तक विस्फोटक ले जाने में सक्षम है. इसके दो इंजन तरल ईंधन से चलते हैं. भारत ने अग्नि-1 बैलिस्टिक मिसाइल का भी ओडिशा तट के पास परीक्षण किया था.
