'Joker' Is the First R-Rated Film
to Earn $1 Billion Worldwide.
According to Box Office Mojo, the
movie has made just over
$322 million domestically.
Since its October 4 release,
'Joker' has smashed many
box office records for that month.
Besides the U.S., it has also performed well in the U.K., South Korea and Brazil.
The $1 billion mark is a huge accomplishment
for 'Joker,' whose budget was around $62 million.
The Joaquin Phoenix-led flick
also made it without a release in China.
'Joker,' an origin story of the legendary Batman villain is the seventh Warner Bros. film to reach $1 billion.
It is also currently the seventh-highest grossing movie of 2019
