Commerce minister Piyush Goyal is scheduled to meet his US counterpart Robert Lighthizer in Washington today. India would be expecting to get the trade benefits under the Generalized System of Preference programme restored and pave the way for a trade deal with USA. The US on its part is likely to call for lower tariffs on a variety of US imports, reports Rituparna Bhuyan.
