Dev Diwali is celebrated on 12 November 2019. It is believed that on this day Lord Shiva killed the demon Tripurasura. Due to this, the gods donated a lamp in the city of Kashi. Since then, this day came to be known as Dev Diwali. Therefore, this festival is celebrated mainly in Kashi. People from far and wide reach Banaras and light the lamp. Also, there is a law to perform Ganga Snan and Ganga Puja on this day. The day of Kartik Purnima is also special for the people of Sikhism. Because on this day, their first Guru Nanak Jayanti (Guru Nanak Jayanti) happens.
