The National Assembly's budget sub-committee has kicked off its examination of the government's 4-hundred-44 billion U.S. dollar budget proposal for next year.
The subcommittee is considered the last stage of the screening process, where the members deduct or increase the budget on a project-by-project basis.
The committee will have finish its review before November 29th,... the deadline for the budget proposal to be put up for a vote.
Heated debates are expected as the ruling party seeks to push through the proposal as it stands.
The main opposition party wants to cut projects related to North Korea and welfare so it doesn't surpass the 4-hundred-30 billion dollar mark.
