Horses left visibly distressed after loud fireworks let off near stable in UK

Tens of thousands of people sign petition to ban fireworks sold to members of the public due to stress caused to animals resulting in major health issues, as well as fatalities in some cases.

The clip filmed on November 2 in the UK, shows Samantha Perkins comforting her horses in the stable block during a fireworks show taking place in close proximity to the building.

Animals are scared of fireworks and loud noises because it triggers their nervous systems and they become anxious.

The survival instinct immediately makes the animals want to run away from the noise, however, with fireworks banging from the beginning of November until after Guy Fawkes night there is little space for the animals to hide.

“My horse was subject to fireworks being let off far too close to their stable causing them to become stressed, start sweating and panicking. We need a ban on public sale and fireworks to be sold to license display only,” the filmer told Newsflare.

There is currently a petition to stop all public sales of fireworks which has over 65,000 signatures on it.
