'Ghost' fishing gear: the trash haunting ocean wildlife
  • il y a 4 ans
Far out in the South Atlantic Ocean, invisible to the South African coastline, diver Pascal Van Erp surfaces with an abandoned lobster cage covered in algae and other marine organisms. Known as "ghost gear", these abandoned objects make up a significant volume of the plastic pollution in the world's seas and oceans and can trap large marine wildlife, causing them slow, painful deaths.
