'Joker' Nears $1 Billion at the Worldwide Box Office.
The DC supervillain origin story has
generated over $934 million in theaters.
Just under $300 million of
that intake is domestic.
'Joker' is also the
highest-grossing rated-R movie ever,
breaking a record set by 'Deadpool 2.'.
The Warner Bros. film stars actor
Joaquin Phoenix as the "Clown Prince of Crime.".
It was helmed by 'The Hangover' director Todd Phillips on a
budget of only around $60 million.
Since its release last month,
'Joker' has broken many
October box office records.
They include biggest opening weekend
for a movie that month with $152.2 million.
As well as the biggest opening day for an October film in the U.S. and Canada with $39.4 million
