Lil Wayne Confesses He
Doesn’t Listen to Hip-Hop.
In a recent interview with ‘Bumbu Room,’
the 37-year-old rapper was asked if he had
a “guilty pleasure” when it came to music. .
Weezy revealed that in terms of
hip-hop music, he only listens to himself.
I don’t listen to no other
hip-hop but my d--- self, Lil Wayne, via 'Bumbu Room'.
He later acknowledged that he does
enjoy “new hip-hop,” saying it was different
than the music he grew up listening to. .
The new hip-hop, I love it. I love that it’s actually
changed … we don’t have to listen to it—listening
is different than hearing. So when we hear it, we
like it, it’s all good, so that makes it easier for me, Lil Wayne, via 'Bumbu Room'.
Lil Wayne went on to explain that his taste
in music is more diverse and that it’s “impossible
for [him] not to love every type of music.”.
He named artists such as Anita Baker, Marvin Gaye,
Blink-182 and Nirvana as his favorites.
