Woman's Conscious Brain Surgery Livestreamed to Thousands .
Methodist Dallas Medical Center streamed Jenna Schardt’s “awake” brain surgery .
on their Facebook
page Tuesday morning. .
Schardt wanted the surgery to be livestreamed to help others who would have to go through a
similar operation. .
The surgery was to remove “a tangled ball of blood vessels,” according to NBC News. .
She had to remain awake so that doctors could ensure they were not damaging critical parts of her brain. .
After reaching her brain, doctors showed
the 25-year-old Schardt words to read and
images on an iPad. .
