Democrats urge President Trump to mediate in S. Korea-Japan dispute: RFA

The U.S. House Democrats are urging President Trump to step up as a mediator to help South Korea and Japan repair their ties... as a matter of America's national security.
Radio Free Asia reported Wednesday that some 14 Democrats including Brad Sherman, who leads the Foreign Affairs Asia-Pacific Subcommittee,... sent a letter to Trump last week.
The letter says Washington should actively engage to help resolve the differences between its two Asian allies, without taking either side.
The representatives also emphasized that cooperation between Seoul, Washington and Tokyo is crucial for America's national security.
The Trump administration has been urged recently to do more... after it became clear that South Korea and Japan would let their military intelligence sharing pact expire next month.
