Kurt Cobain's Cardigan Sold
at Auction for $334,000 A cardigan worn by Kurt Cobain,
who passed away in 1994, recently
went up for auction in New York. The unwashed cardigan sold for $334,000,
making it the most expensive sweater
ever sold at an auction. According to Darren Julien, the president
of Julien's Auction, Cobain's cigarette-burned
cardigan is the "holy grail of any article of
clothing that he ever wore." The Nirvana frontman famously wore the
garment during the band's MTV 'Unplugged'
performance in 1993. It was later passed on to a personal
assistant by his widow, Courtney Love,
following his death. Cobain's custom-
made guitar was also
sold at the auction
for $340,000, having
spent several years
on display at the
Rock and Roll
Hall of Fame.
