Swinson: PM and Corbyn should both back our Bill

Under a plan proposed by the Liberal Democrats and the SNP, an election would take place on 9 December once the European Union had confirmed an extension to 31 January of the Brexit date. Jo Swinson, the Lib Dem leader, said her proposed Bill would give legal certainty to a 9 December election date and guarantee that a no-deal Brexit is ruled out in the short term.
