A Palestinian official says at least 77 Palestinian demonstrators were injured on Friday in clashes with Israeli soldiers at the border between eastern Gaza Strip and Israel.

Ashraf al-Qedra, a spokesperson of the health ministry in Gaza, told reporters that the injured included 31 demonstrators who were shot by Israeli soldiers' live ammunition.

One of the injured was a field paramedic, he added.

Footage showed some of those injured were children.

The clashes erupted on Friday afternoon between hundreds of Palestinian demonstrators and the Israeli soldiers during the weekly anti-Israel protests, known as the "Great March of Return."
