Columbia Records recently
announced “Old Town Road”
as the first 2019 track to
reach diamond status. .
Lil Nas X previously thought the song
hit diamond in July, but was later corrected
by the RIAA, who said the song had only
achieved “3x multi-Platinum” at the time. .
The diamond certification means that
Lil Nas X’s song, featuring Billy Ray Cyrus,
has sold at least 10 million units.
Other artists who have
achieved diamond status
include Bruno Mars,
Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber.
According to 'Complex,' “Old Town Road” is
the fastest song to ever reach diamond. .
It was also the longest-running No. 1
single on the 'Billboard' Hot 100,
successfully occupying the number
one spot for 19 consecutive weeks
